Why We Don't Recommend Store Bought Vitamins & Supplements

As a result of the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA) the FDA is not responsible for the safety of supplements, that responsibility is left to the manufacturers [see FDA statement here]. Unfortunately, due to the industry’s highly competitive nature many manufacturers put profits over peoples health.

Example: In March of 2010, a lawsuit was brought against many companies for selling fish oil that has PCB levels over the state standard. California is the only state where it is illegal to sell anything that contains a carcinogen or may cause birth defects without a warning on the label.

Why Our Vitamins Are Different

Community Health Associates vitamins are different because our products have been tested by a reliable 3rd party independent of the manufacturer to ensure quality ingredients and proper dosages. Unlike many vitamins and supplements our products have been produced in a facility that fully complies with the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), regulations of the Natural Products Association (NPA), and the federal cGMP regulations of the Food and Drug Administration. Additionally, our products manufacturer is certified for organic manufacturing by Quality Assurance International (QAI).
