Dr Modwel is a board-certified family practice practitioner who sees patients ages seven and older. She has been practicing in the Connecticut area for over twenty-two years, and offers in-person and virtual visits.   As an Indian native, Dr Modwel graduated from the University of Delhi and completed her residency in the United States at Stamford Hospital through a program with Columbia University.

Dr Modwel is an internist in India, and in the United States she specializes in family health, women’s health and chronic disease management.  She is a well respected and much admired member of the Newtown, Connecticut medical community.  Her care philosophy is: “to establish long-term relationships with her patients, and to treat and care for them so that they may enjoy a long, happy, and healthy life.”

In order to facilitate patients’ needs and wishes, Dr Modwel’s office hours include a Saturday for virtual appointments every fortnight. In addition to English she is fluent in Hindu, Arabic, Urdi, and Farsi.  She resides in Newtown with her family and in her spare time, she enjoys gardening, cooking, learning to play the piano, and spending time with family and friends.
